Overview
SimpleFuel is a fuel-tracking app made by Zhultek ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the SimpleFuel mobile app and its companion service (the "Service") collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We designed SimpleFuel to collect only what it needs to work: there are no ads, no advertising trackers and we never sell your data.
Information we collect
Everything below is information you enter yourself, or that is needed to keep your account working.
Account information
- Name and email address — used to create your account, sign you in and contact you about your account.
- Password — stored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read it.
Vehicle and fuel data
- Vehicles — the name, make, model, year, fuel type, tank size, odometer reading and licence plate you choose to record, plus any registration, fitness, insurance or service dates you add for reminders.
- Fuel logs — the date, volume, unit, total cost, price per unit, odometer reading, full-tank flag and notes for each fill-up.
- Statistics — monthly totals, comparisons and efficiency figures are calculated from your fuel logs on demand; nothing beyond your logs is stored to produce them.
This data is synced to our servers so that it is available on your devices and safe if you lose your phone.
Subscription status
SimpleFuel is a subscription app with a free trial. We record whether your subscription or trial is active, the plan name and the activation date so the app knows what to unlock. Payment is handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play — we never see or store your card details. Subscription events (purchase, renewal, expiry) reach us through our subscription provider using your SimpleFuel account identifier.
Preferences stored on your device only
Your currency, volume unit, distance unit, reminder lead time and notification switch are stored locally on your device and are not sent to our servers.
Technical information
Like almost any online service, our servers keep standard request logs (IP address, request time, user-agent) for security and troubleshooting. We do not use them to profile you, and they are rotated automatically. The app itself contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs from advertising networks.
How we use it
- To provide the Service: store your vehicles and fuel logs, calculate your statistics and sync between devices.
- To check that your free trial or subscription is active and unlock the app accordingly.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and diagnose problems.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on the performance of our contract with you (providing the app), our legitimate interest in running a secure service, and your consent where you opt in (for example, to notifications).
What we don't do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- We do not show advertising or share data with ad networks.
- We do not track your location. Odometer readings are numbers you type in; the app does not use GPS.
- We do not read your contacts, photos or other apps.
Third-party services
We only share data with the small number of providers needed to run SimpleFuel:

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Reminders & notifications
Renewal and service reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They are created from the dates and odometer targets you enter and do not involve our servers or push-notification tokens. You are asked for permission the first time you save a renewal date, and you can switch reminders off at any time under Profile → Vehicle reminders or in your phone's settings.
Retention & deletion
- Your data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- Deleting a vehicle or fuel log in the app removes it from our servers.
- To delete your account and all associated data, email support@simplefuel.app from the address on your account. We will confirm and complete deletion within 30 days, apart from minimal records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
- You can export your full fuel history as a CSV file at any time from within the app.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are hashed with a modern algorithm, sign-in uses revocable API tokens stored in your device's secure storage, and access to production systems is restricted. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correct inaccurate data (most of it you can edit directly in the app).
- Delete your data (see above).
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@simplefuel.app. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Children
SimpleFuel is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our servers and providers may be located in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data across borders we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, as required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will post the new version here with a revised "last updated" date and, for material changes, let you know in the app or by email.
